故事發生在1945年4月，吳家村坐落於湘西雪峰山的深處，這裏人跡罕至，民風淳樸，生活平靜而又祥和。然而，不知從什麽時候起，村子裏接連發生了種種令人匪夷所思的怪事，打破了一直以來籠罩著整個村莊的寧靜氛圍。
吳振堂（王小毅 飾）是吳家村的村民，某日，他發現自家蒸好的米飯竟然不翼而飛，緊接著，村中的衣服，臘肉等物品接連無故失蹤，讓村民們百思不得其解。更可怕的還在後麵，河裏浮上來了一具屍體，其身份正是村中的外出的居民，正當眾人因為這些怪事兒感到惶恐不安之時，他們並不知道，有一個更大、更恐怖的災難即將侵襲這個村莊。
