公元前3067年，魔蠍大帝（“岩石”洛克Dwayne Johnson 飾）率領大軍企圖征服世界，但他的野心在長達七年的戰役中遭到挫敗，他的殘兵敗部進入神聖的阿姆謝沙漠，嚴酷的環境使得曾經驍勇的戰士們接連倒斃，瀕臨死亡的魔蠍大帝向死神阿努比斯獻出靈魂，以求打敗他的敵人。在此之後，魔蠍大帝及來自地獄的死神軍團所向披靡，大獲全勝的死神軍團也重新沉睡地下。
