喬治（奧拉夫·許滕 Olaf Hytten 飾）本是一個鬱鬱不得誌的退伍大兵，在昔日戰友的幫助之下，他得到了進入《法蘭西生活報》工作的機會，就這樣，喬治成為了報社的一名編輯。喬治其他方麵都很平庸，唯獨擁有一張漂亮的臉蛋，利用自己的這一長處，喬治開始遊走於達官貴婦之間，巧舌如簧左右逢源，踩在這些女人的肩膀上，喬治步步高升，而當他不再需要她們的幫助後，喬治總是選擇殘忍而無情的拋棄這些女人們。
